Parker Kingston Gives No. 15 BYU Fourth Quarter Lead

PROVO, Utah – The BYU Cougars didn’t bat an eye after falling behind Utah early in the fourth quarter, bouncing right back with a Parker Kingston touchdown drive to grab a 17-14 lead.

The 2025 Holy War has lived up to its Top 25 billing with two excellent defenses controlling the action. With yards hard to come by, both offenses have shown incredible grit during a physical game.

BYU began the drive with two rushes, immediately followed by two long passes.

True freshman Bear Bachmeier hit Parker Kingston for a 17-yard gain. The next play was a great read from Bachmeier that resulted in a 26-yard reception for former Utah TE Carsen Ryan.

Utah linebacker Lander Barton was ejected on the following play for a targeting penalty that handed the Cougars 15 yards.

After a review confirmed the penalty, BYU handed the ball to Kingston on an end-around for a 12-yard rushing touchdown. It was Kingston’s second rushing score of the season.

Utah’s next drive ended when Tanner Wall intercepted a Devon Dampier pass that was intended for Daniel Bray.

The Cougars took possession with a 17-14 lead and 9:24 left in the game.

Location: Provo, Utah 

Utah reentered the Top 25 this week, checking in at No. 23 after crushing a shorthanded Arizona State team 42-10 at home last weekend. The Utes have won two consecutive games by an average of 33 points.

BYU jumped out to a 6-0 start for the second consecutive season, marking the first time in program history that they have accomplished that feat. The Cougars hope to have gained momentum in a rain-soaked, 2OT road win over the Arizona Wildcats.

BYU is looking for its third straight win for the first time since 1992.
