Jazz Pick Up Options On Five Second And Third-Year Players

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz announced Thursday they have exercised rookie-scale contract options for five second- and third-year players on the roster.
The team faced a Halloween deadline to decide whether to retain several members of its young core, including two recent lottery picks.

Utah Jazz Pick Up Five Rookie-Scale Options
According to the Jazz, the team “exercised fourth-year rookie-scale team options on guard Keyonte George, forward Taylor Hendricks, and guard/forward Brice Sensabaugh, and third-year rookie-scale team options on guard Isaiah Collier and forward Cody Williams.”
George, Hendricks, and Sensabaugh are now under contract through their fourth NBA seasons and will become restricted free agents in the summer of 2027.

The Jazz can offer each of their 2023 first-round picks contract extensions during the 2026 offseason to avoid losing them to restricted free agency a year later.
Collier and Williams will remain under contract through the 2026–27 season. The Jazz can pick up their fourth-year options next summer.
George has emerged as the breakout star of Utah’s young roster, averaging 22.3 points and 9.3 assists over his first four games this season. He led the team in minutes played during the 2024–25 campaign and currently ranks second in scoring.
Second-year forward Kyle Filipowski is not eligible for a rookie-scale extension because the Jazz selected him in the second round.
The first two years of 2025 first-round picks Ace Bailey and Walt Clayton Jr. are already guaranteed under the terms of their rookie contracts.
