AP Top 25 Poll: BYU Falls Following Loss, Utah Cracks Top 15

SALT LAKE CITY — The week 12 AP Top 25 college football poll was released today. Both BYU and Utah football saw movement, but in opposite directions.
The Utes jumped up two spots to No. 15, and the Cougars fell four spots to No. 12.

With the national spotlight shining bright in Lubbock, BYU football suffered its first loss of the season to the Texas Tech Red Raiders.
It was an emphatic win for the No. 9 team in the country at home. They scored all 29 of their points unanswered before the Cougars eventually got on the board late in the fourth quarter.
BYU had three turnovers, 67 yards rushing, and struggled to get momentum at any point during the week 11 contest.

Although the Utes got to enjoy a bye week, they were able to jump a few spots in the AP poll thanks to some key losses from teams ranked ahead of them.
Louisville lost to Cal, Virginia lost to Wake Forest, and BYU lost to Texas Tech.
The runway to continue rising is clear for Utah as the rest of their schedule features three games the Utes will be favored.

The Rest of The Big 12 Rankings
As has been the case for most of the college football season, four Big 12 schools find themselves in the top 25.
Texas Tech now leads the pack at No. 8 after beating BYU. The Cougars dropped but are still in second at No. 12. Utah is the only other top 15 team, and Cincinnati brings up the rear at No. 22.
Houston and Arizona State also received votes and are unofficially at No. 30 and No. 32, respectively.
