Utah’s John Henry Daley Out For Season With Lower Body Injury

SALT LAKE CITY — At Kyle Whittingham’s weekly press conference, the Utah football head coach confirmed that John Henry Daley would miss the rest of the season with a lower-body injury.
Henry Daley went down in the second quarter of the Kansas State game and didn’t return. He injured his left leg and had to be helped off the field.

Prior to the injury, Henry Daley was up to 3.5 tackles for loss and two sacks, just in the game. He had 17.5 tackles for loss and 11,5 sacks on the season, which was good for first and second in the Power Four.
“JHD is a long-term injury, unfortunately. He was having a monster game, it’s a brutal loss and long-term,” Whittingham said on Monday.
Henry Daley was one of Utah’s biggest breakout players and pleasant surprises in the 2025 season. A lot of credit for the Utes’ defensive prowess was owed to the sophomore defensive end.
Utah football has at least two more games left on its schedule. One is the regular-season finale in Kansas this weekend, and the other is a bowl game in December. Utah is still technically in the race for both the Big 12 title game and the College Football Playoff.
