Former Four-Star QB Chooses Big 12 Rival After Leaving Utah

LOGAN, Utah – Isaac Wilson, once a rising star for the Utah Utes, is signing with the Colorado Buffaloes out of the NCAA Transfer Portal.
Multiple outlets reported that the former Corner Canyon QB is heading to Boulder, Colorado, to play under head coach and NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders.

Wilson’s addition gives the Buffaloes added depth and some insurance behind starting QB Julian Lewis.
Isaac Wilson struggles in true freshman campaign with the Utah Utes
Wilson’s college career began with promise but quickly turned challenging.
Injuries thrust him into action as a true freshman in 2024, when he started seven games, appeared in 10, and threw for 1,510 yards, 10 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions.

His best performance came in his first career start. Facing Utah State, he completed 20 of 33 passes for 239 yards and three scores.
After briefly entering the transfer portal, Wilson returned to Utah as the backup to Devon Dampier in 2025 but saw minimal action, preserving his redshirt year.
Wilson earns MaxPreps Utah Player of the Year as a Corner Canyon senior
Playing in the shadow of all-state QB and former first-round NFL draft pick brother Zach Wilson, it never seemed like the spotlight was too bright for the younger Wilson at Corner Canyon. He developed into the third-ranked QB in Utah and the 21st-ranked QB nationally.
Isaac played sparingly as a freshman and sophomore before taking the reins of the powerhouse Chargers offense in 2023.
The 6’0, 210-pounder threw for 3,774 yards, 40 touchdowns, and 269.6 yards per game as a junior.

Wilson followed it up with an even better senior year.
He accounted for 5,901 yards, second most in the country, setting the Utah state record for total offense in a single season.
Wilson threw for 4,595 yards and 49 touchdowns against nine interceptions. He added 1,304 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns to go with six 100+ yard rushing games while returning the program to state-championship glory, winning the first of what has become three straight 6A state championships.
A two-time All-State selection, Wilson was named 2023 Mr. Football by the Deseret News.
