Utah Mammoth Defenseman Olli Maatta Wins Bronze For Finland

SALT LAKE CITY – Utah Mammoth defenseman Olli Maatta added another Olympic medal to his collection on Saturday as the 31-year-old won bronze for Team Finland in Milan.

After narrowly losing to Canada in the semifinal, Finland bounced back in the bronze medal game with a dominant 6-1 victory over Slovakia

Olli Maatta wins second Olympic bronze for Finland in Milan

Despite a closely contested matchup through two periods of play, the Fins offense erupted in the third as they scored four unanswered to capture the bronze.

As for Maatta, the veteran D-man registered 13:31 on the ice across 18 shifts with one shot on goal against Slovakia.

In total, Maatta registered 78 minutes with one assist for his country in Milan.

The Utah Mammoth will return to play on February 25 against the Colorado Avalanche at 7:00 p.m. MT. 

The game will be available on Mammoth+.
