Ultimate BYU football trips in the 2026 College & NFL seasons

PROVO – The NFL schedule release creates an opportunity for BYU football fans to expand on their road trips for the upcoming season.

All 32 NFL teams dropped their schedules for the 2026 season. After looking over the schedules, here are the ultimate BYU football trips this season.

Weekend in the Mile High

Saturday, September 19: BYU at Colorado State

Sunday, September 20: Denver Broncos vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

BYU football returns to the Front Range to face former WAC and Mountain West Conference rival Colorado State on September 19. Then one day, after that game at Canvas Stadium in the Choice City, head south to Denver to catch an NFL game with two of the top quarterbacks in the league in Bo Nix (Broncos) and Trevor Lawrence (Jaguars).

Football fix on the bye week

Saturday, September 26: No BYU game; travel day

Sunday, September 27: Los Angeles Rams at Denver Broncos -or- Las Vegas Raiders at New Orleans Saints

College football teams have only one bye week this season. BYU’s bye comes early, on September 26.

If you need a football fix, you could go back to the Mile High to see former BYU star wide receiver Puka Nacua and the Los Angeles Rams take on the Broncos in a primetime Sunday Night Football game.

The other option would involve more travel. Fly down to the Big Easy to see the New Orleans Saints host the Las Vegas Raiders. Maybe former BYU quarterback Zach Wilson can work his way onto the field.

Also, the Raiders now have three former BYU players in OL Isaiah Jatta, WR Chase Roberts, and DB Tanner Wall.

If you choose the New Orleans route, the day before the Saints/Raiders game, LSU hosts Texas A&M in Baton Rouge.

BYU travels to “Cowtown” for the second time since joining the Big 12 Conference in 2023 to take on TCU. They will look to have a more successful road trip than the last one three years ago, where they lost 44-11. But in the most recent matchup, a season ago in Provo, BYU came close to replicating that score, beating the Horned Frogs, 44-13.

The game between BYU and TCU is scheduled for Saturday, October 3, which falls on General Conference Saturday for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The next day, the nearby Dallas Cowboys are not at home, but they aren’t too far away. You could drive four hours south or catch a flight to see the Cowboys take on the Houston Texans in NRG Stadium.

Double down on BYU sports, cash out in Las Vegas

Friday, October 16: BYU basketball vs. Nebraska at the Marriott Center

Saturday, October 17: BYU football vs. Notre Dame in Provo

Sunday, October 18: Las Vegas Raiders vs. Buffalo Bills

If you love BYU sports, this is a weekend for you.

Kick off the weekend with an exhibition basketball game, where Kevin Young’s crew hosts the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Friday, October 16.

Then, the following day, BYU football hosts Notre Dame in Provo for the first time since 2004, in a game that could have College Football Playoff implications.

If the vibes remain high, fly or drive down to Las Vegas to see the BYU trio in the silver and black take on the Buffalo Bills, led by star quarterback Josh Allen, at Allegiant Stadium the next day.

Saturday, October 24: BYU at UCF

Sunday, October 25: San Francisco 49ers at Atlanta Falcons

Maybe the top road game for BYU football fans in 2026 is at UCF on Saturday, October 24. We all know Cougar fans love a good Disney trip; they can see BYU take on UCF. Then, they can fly up to Atlanta to see former BYU star Fred Warner and Jakob Robinson and the San Francisco 49ers take on the Atlanta Falcons in the Benz.

Saturday, November 21: BYU at Kansas

Sunday, November 22: Arizona Cardinals at Kansas City Chiefs

BYU will be looking for revenge against a Kansas Jayhawks program that ended the Cougars undefeated season in 2024. It will be the first trip to Lawrence since 2023.

The following day, BYU fans can go back to Kansas City to see Andy Reid and his Chiefs, which includes Kingsley Suamataia and Khyiris Tonga, host former BYU running back Tyler Allgeier and the Arizona Cardinals in Arrowhead Stadium.
