SALT LAKE CITY – A day after leaving the Battle of the Brothers via ambulance, Utah State linebacker Harrison Taggart has some good news.
The former Corner Canyon linebacker said he is progressing quickly after suffering a scary injury against the Utes.
“Harrison is the heartbeat of our program,” Aggie head coach Bronco Mendenhall said postgame. “There isn’t anyone that’s more vibrant and has more influence by not only how he plays, but by the time he spends and how he connects with our players and the emotional leader. Man, what a journeyman. He’s just completely invested in our team. He is our team.”

Taggart remained on the turf after a second-quarter tackle. The sold-out Rice-Eccles Stadium crowd remained silent as USU and Utah training staff attended to Taggart for several minutes before exiting the stadium on a backboard via ambulance

Harrison Taggart was voted as a team captain entering his first season in Logan after playing the 2025 season at Cal.
The 6-foot-1, 235-pound athlete began his college career by redshirting at Oregon in 2022. He transferred to BYU the following season and spent two seasons in Provo.
