PROVO — The BYU football depth chart is out for the sixth game of the season, a top-10 matchup against the No. 2 Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
BYU enters the game at 5-0 and is ranked No. 8 in the latest AP Top 25.
Here are some quick notes before diving into the sixth depth chart of the year for the eighth-ranked Cougars.

LJ Martin officially removed from the depth chart
BYU football’s star running back LJ Martin is officially off the depth chart for the first time this season. Last week, on the Monday of the Iowa State game, they were still waiting on evaluations and feedback before ruling him out.
The reported timeline is four to six weeks for the reigning Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year.
BYU head coach Kalani Sitake confirmed that Martin will be out this week. Following the UCF game on October 24, he is expected to be in a “week-to-week” category for a potential return.
Without Martin listed at running back, BYU’s depth chart for the upcoming Notre Dame game includes Preston Rex at RB1, freshman Journee Tonga as the backup, with fellow freshman Devaughn Eka as the third-string back.
All three players earned carries in BYU’s 24-10 win over Iowa State last Friday.
BYU starters Isaiah Glasker and Raider Damuni return to the depth chart
While LJ Martin is out for another week with a lower-body injury, starters Isaiah Glasker and Raider Damuni are back on the depth chart in preparation for the top-10 showdown against the Irish.
Glasker suffered an injury against TCU on October 3 and missed last week’s game against Iowa State. In the radio postgame interview with the BYU Sports Network last Friday, Kalani Sitake said, “Don’t count out Glasker.”
Glasker has only appeared in three games this season for the Cougars. He’s totaled 13 tackles. The veteran fifth-year player has 153 tackles, 23 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, and five interceptions in his BYU career.
Along with Glasker, this week sees the return of starting safety Raider Damuni to the depth chart.
Damuni has been sidelined since an injury in Week 1 against Utah Tech. At the time, it looked devastating, and Kalani Sitake asked for prayers for senior Damuni.
Those prayers were answered as the injury wasn’t as severe as initially thought when it happened in the game.
Last week, Damuni participated in practice, and BYU defensive coordinator Kelly Poppinga said his starting strong safety was “day-to-day.”
On the depth chart, Damuni is listed as a co-starter with Tommy Prassas, who has been the starter since Damuni suffered his injury.
Pierson Watson removed at MACK
Second-year linebacker Pierson Watson was removed from the depth chart this week. He’s appeared in two games this season (Utah Tech and Colorado State), recording three tackles, one tackle for loss.
Ace Kaufusi moves off ROVER, goes to MACK
With Isaiah Glasker returning to the ROVER depth chart and Watson moving out of the MACK spot, Ace Kaufusi, who is fresh off a performance where he earned his first career sack in the win over Iowa State, is now the third-string MACK linebacker behind Cade Uluave and Miles Hall.
