Utah vs. Memphis Storylines
- First rematch of the season
- We’re only four games into the 2026-27 NBA season, and the Jazz are already seeing a familiar foe. Memphis took game one; we’ll see if Utah can respond.
- Ty Jerome’s hot start
- Jerome is leading the association with 34.7 points per game. He’s played well since last Wednesday, but the 45 he dropped on the Jazz remains his season-high. His hot hand, or lack thereof, will be on display at the Delta Center tonight.
- Darryn Peterson vs. Cam Boozer
- Once again, we will get to see the second pick in the 2026 NBA Draft take on the third pick. Neither had an exceptionally notable performance in the opener, but that could change tonight.
What I’m Looking For
- Darryn Peterson bounce back
- Peterson dropped nine points in game one and eight points yesterday against Los Angeles. He has talked in the past about pulling extra motivation for games, and there will be plenty of sources for that tonight. I’m not even looking for DP to have a 30-piece, or even 20, I’m mainly wanting to see him continue to get comfortable and find his place within the offense.
- Can Ace, Keyonte, Lauri stay hot?
- Bailey scored 15 points in the first quarter of yesterdays game. I want to see him stay aggressive over four quarters. Lauri dropped a season-high 28 against the Lakers. Utah will likely need comparable performances to that win to secure some early-season wins. Last but not least, George had a near-triple-double in game three with 24, 9, and 1o. He has shot the leather off the ball so far this year and has been wildly impressive, overall.
- The rebounding battle
- The Jazz got killed on the glass in Memphis (55 to 38). They gave the Lakers that same treatment yesterday, winning that battle 52 to 31. The Grizzlies are currently second in the NBA in rebounds per game and offensive rebounds that game. But closing the gap from game one would be huge for Utah’s chances.
keyonte being keyonte 🤣
