NEW ORLEANS — The Utah Jazz lost their sixth straight game in New Orleans on Wednesday with a 120-113 final score at the end of overtime.

The result puts Utah at 1-7 on the season, a mark that ties them for dead last in the NBA.

The first half painted much of the picture that would eventually be finished at the final buzzer.

Utah posted season-worst totals in turnovers and three-point shooting. The 13 turnovers and 2/20 shooting on three-point field goals were both new lows from any half of Jazz basketball this season.

The third quarter showed some signs of life, but the aforementioned ball control and shooting issues remained prevalent.

Utah scored 43 points in the third, the second-most of any quarter this season. But New Orleans would outscore Utah by 10 in the fourth to force overtime.

After back-to-back Keyonte George triples to start overtime, the Pelicans would go on a 14-0 run to seal the win at home.

George was one of the only bright spots for Utah on Wednesday, recording 39 points, nine assists, and four steals.

Jazz vs. Pelicans Quick Hits

  • After posting six assists and one turnover on Monday, Darryn Peterson had seven assists and two turnovers tonight and still made an impact despite shooting 2/8 from the field.
  • The Jazz struggled mightily from three-point range as a team, making just 11 of their 47 attempts. They were able to keep the scoring close by converting on nearly 64 percent of their two-point shot attempts.
  • Four Pelicans players scored 20 or more points against Utah. The Jazz’s four leading scorers were George (39), Lauri Markkanen (21), Ace Bailey (15), and a three-way tie between three players who scored seven points.
  • The Utah Jazz return to the Lone Star State on Friday, October 6, to take on the Dallas Mavericks. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. (MT).
