Barben Throws Six TD Passes In Crimson Cliffs’ Win Over Hurricane

SALT LAKE CITY – The No. 20 Crimson Cliffs Mustangs stomped the Hurricane Tigers, 48-17.

Hurricane 17 @ #20 Crimson Cliffs 48

After falling behind 10-0 after one quarter of play, the Mustangs outscored the Tigers 48-7 over the final three quarters, including 41 unanswered points. Steele Barben tossed six touchdown passes for Crimson Cliffs. With the result, the Mustangs moved to a 6-1 record and the Tigers dropped to 1-6.

Here are all of the results in the 4A classification from the seventh week of the 2022 high school football season.

Region 10

Dixie 35 @ Cedar City 24

The Dixie Flyer came back in the final minute to fend off the Cedar City Reds, 25-24. With 59 seconds left to play, Jaxon Barben hauled in a touchdown catch on a pass from Jalen Schutlz to lift the Flyers ahead of the Reds. Schultz finished the night with three passing touchdowns. With the result, the Flyers improved to a 4-2 record and the Reds dropped to 3-4.

Desert Hills 20 @ Snow Canyon 35

The Snow Canyon Warriors fought off the Desert Hills Thunder, 35-20. The Warriors used a 21-0 third quarter to cruise to victory in the second half. Desert Hills was the only team to score in the final quarter but the early deficit was too much for the Thunder to overcome. Hunter Johnson threw two touchdown passes for the Warriors. With the result, the Warriors improved to 4-3 and the Thunder fell to 4-3.

Region 11

Ridgeline 21 @ Green Canyon 14 (Thurs.)

The game was tied at 14 heading into the fourth quarter. Ridgeline scored the go-ahead touchdown early in the fourth and secured the win. Nate Dahle threw a TD pass to Carson Cox, while Will Rippstein and JT White each ran in a touchdown for the Riverhawks. Will Wheatley returned a blocked kick for a touchdown and Peyton Jonson had a rushing TD for Green Canyon.

Mountain Crest 38 @ Logan 7

The Mountain Crest Mustangs ran all over the Logan Grizzlies on Friday night for a 38-7 win. The Mustangs scored 38 unanswered points before the Grizzlies got on the scoreboard in the fourth quarter. Dax Benson led Mountain Crest with a pair of rushing touchdowns. With the win, the Mustangs improved to 4-3 and the Grizzlies fell to a 3-4 record.

Sky View 27 @ Bear River 7

The Sky View Bobcats beat the Bear River Bears on Friday night, 27-7. The Bobcats scored 27 unanswered points before the Bears found the end zone in the final quarter. Carson Thatcher tossed four touchdowns for Sky View. With the result, the Bobcats improved to a 3-4 record and the Bears dropped to a 2-5 record.
