No. 18 Lehi Dominates Alta For Big Region 8 Win

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The 18th ranked Lehi Pioneers picked up a dominating 49-14 win over Alta for a big Region 8 win on Friday night.
The Pioneers took over in the third quarter by outscoring Alta 35-7. Grayson Brousseau threw four touchdown passes, finding Isaac Dayley, River Moore and Jaxon Christensen. Kadiyon Sweat had a punt return for a touchdown, along with one rushing TD each from Helaman Ofahengaue and Isaac Mills.

Region 5
Box Elder 18 @ Woods Cross 12
Box Elder took an 18-6 lead heading into the fourth quarter. Woods Cross scored a touchdown with 57 seconds left in the game but couldn’t complete the comeback. Daxton Sumko ran in both touchdowns for Box Elder.
Viewmont 7 @ No. 24 Bountiful 45
Viewmont scored first and that was the end of it as Bountiful scored 45 unanswered. Corbin Cottle had four rushing touchdowns, Owen Geilman added one score on the ground. Isaac Vaivaka had a pick-six.
No. 21 Northridge 42 @ Bonneville 49
Points were definitely scored in this Region 5 battle. For Bonneville, Koy Dixon threw a touchdown pass to Carson Jones, while Jordan Jacquez found Kord Shaw. Shaw had a long kickoff return for a touchdown and the Lakers picked up touchdown runs from Dixon three times and Jones once. Maximus Fonoti-Maikui threw three touchdowns, finding Josh Acord twice and A.J. Tillman once. Tillman also ran in two TD’s.

Region 6
No. 25 Brighton 27 @ No. 11 Park City 24
The game was tied with three minutes left in the game when Brighton kicked a field goal and held off the Miners for the upset win. Jack Johnson threw two touchdowns, finding Dante McMaster and Easton Smith for Brighton. Kace Gurr had a rushing TD in the win. Carson Tabaracci had a rushing and receiving TD, along with a score on the ground from his brother Blake for Park City.
Skyline 20 @ East 13
Skyline took the lead late in the third quarter and held off the Leopards. Alexander Emery had two passing touchdowns to Miles Hall and Austin Okerwa for Skyline. East had two touchdowns, both coming on the ground from Amini Amone.
Murray 3 @ Highland 25
Maea Giles had the offensive hat trick with a passing TD to Sefa Brown, a receiving touchdown from Peizge Mailei and a rushing score for Highland in the win.
Region 7
Cedar Valley 38 @ Uintah 27
Easton Schank accounted for five touchdowns, four passing and one rushing. He connected with Lucas Peck, Taygen Hansen, Noah Burnham and E.J. Larsen for Cedar Valley. Uintah had two rushing touchdowns to Dace O’Bagy and two passing TD’s from Josh Speirs to Kaedyn Sheffield and Jaron Colton.

Stansbury 52 @ Mountain View 14
Ezra Harris threw one TD and ran in two scores on the ground for Stansbury. Bridger Thomas, Trot Baker, Benji Douglass and Matthew Topham all had one rushing TD.
Timpanogos 51 @ Hillcrest 10
Matu Holdaway threw five touchdown passes, finding Matthew Torgersen and Luke Livingston twice each. He also had a passing TD to Joe Vance. Josh Jones added a rushing score.
Payson 27 @ Tooele 48
Payson had a 13-7 lead at the end of the first quarter but Tooele took over after that. Payton Sprouse found Gabe Medina for his lone passing TD. Medina also had a pick-six. Mateaki Helu recorded two rushing touchdowns. Dustin VanWangoner, Chandler Yeck and Tabor Shepard all had rushing touchdowns.
Region 8
No. 8 Orem 13 @ No. 4 Timpview 43 (Thurs.)
Orem scored first when Lance Reynolds connected with Mack Hixson for a touchdown but Timpview went on to score 43 straight points. Reynolds found Hixson again late in the third quarter. For Timpview, Micah Beckstead ran in three touchdowns and added another score through the air. Will Lohner had a pick-six, while Puna Alatini recorded a scoop and score.
Region 9
Maple Mountain 17 @ No. 13 Springville 64
The ground game was big for Springville as Ryder Burton threw just one TD pass in the game and that was to Cole Clement. Seth Rigtrup had three rushing touchdowns, along with two from Tisi Valeti, one from Burton, Will Penrod and Gavin Cruser.
Provo 29 @ Salem Hills 7
Jace Welsch led the way with three rushing touchdowns, while Tomasi Hifo added one TD on the ground for Provo in the win.
No. 16 Wasatch 21 @ No. 20 Spanish Fork 35
The difference in the game was a 14-0 second quarter for the Dons. Austin Stevenson threw three touchdowns, two to Cade Olsen and one to Jace Gunter. Joshua Buck added two rushing touchdowns in the win for Spanish Fork. Quezon Villa threw a TD to La’a Kalama while running in two scores for Wasatch.
Non-Region
Jordan 21 @ Cottonwood 29
Jordan scored all 21 of their points in the second quarter before Cottonwood put up 29 points in the second half to pick up the win.
