Sewell’s Hat Trick Helps Orem Run Past Salem Hills, Into 5A Final

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Orem Tigers ran past the Salem Hills Skyhawks and secured a spot in the 5A championship game behind Noah Sewell’s hat trick performance.
Sewell led the Tigers to a 51-14 win over the Skyhawks on Thursday, November 14.
The Orem running back ran for 154 yards on 11 carries. He scored three touchdowns in the blowout.
“It feels great and it’s a good win,” said Sewell after the victory. “Time to go and celebrate with my teammates at home.”

“It makes my job very easy,” Orem head coach Jeremy Hill said of Sewell after the win. “Noah definitely gives us an advantage any game we’re in.”
Sewell’s first score on Thursday gave the Tigers a 14-0 lead with 2:31 left in the first quarter.

Salem Hills responded with a touchdown early in the second quarter to cut the Orem lead to 14-7. That’s the closest the Skyhawks would get.
Sewell punched in another Orem TD with just over a minute left in the first half to give the Tigers a 20 point led at the break.

The Tigers received the ball to start the second and marched down the field for a touchdown and a 34-14 lead.
Later in the quarter, Sewell punched in his third and final TD of the game on a 46-yard burst. The score put the Tigers up 48-14.

A 19-yard field goal in the fourth quarter put 12th seeded Orem up for a final score of 51-14 over the top seed Salem Hills.
“It really means a lot cause I feel like we’re a little bit underrated,” said Sewell. “It is what it is. We’re still gonna do our game.”
Tiger QB Micah Fe’a completed 13/21 for 253 passing yards and 3 touchdowns.
The Skyhawks were led by QB Jarret Elmer who was 8/18 for 126 yards and a TD.
Orem will face the Timpview Thunderbirds in the 5A final on Friday, November 22 at 6:30 p.m. (MDT). The game will be played at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City.
