SALT LAKE CITY – The Roy Royals picked up their first win of the season in a narrow four-point win over the Bonneville Lakers in week six of 5A high school football on Friday.
Roy trailed 28-24 early in the fourth quarter. Down to the final five minutes of regulation, the Royals would make two massive plays in less than 30 seconds of game time to take the lead.
It started with a 67-yard bomb from Ryker Speredon to Riley Jeppesen. On the other end, Ange Ahui picked off the Lakers QB and took it to the house, putting Roy comfortably in front.

West Jordan Jaguars 31 @ Hunter Wolverines 7
The West Jordan Jaguars added to their tally in each quarter of their win over the Hunter Wolverines on Thursday. West Jordan’s Nia Ioapo had two touchdowns, one receiving and the other on a 96-yard kick return after Hunter’s lone score in the third quarter.
Taylorsville Warriors 6 @ Cyprus Pirates 31
The Cyprus Pirates scored one touchdown in each quarter, cruising to a big win over the Taylorsville Warriors on Thursday. Quarterback Brock Langford finished with three passing touchdowns in the win. Each score went to a different receiver.

Kearns Cougars 7 @ Granger Lancers 56
The Granger Lancers dropped 35 points in the second quarter of their win over the Kearns Cougars on Thursday. Quarterback Owen Griffin had four total touchdowns, three passing and one with his legs. Tumua Moors and Sunia Fifita each scored two touchdowns on the ground to make it five total rushing TDs for Granger in week six.
No. 9 West Panthers 79 @ Hillcrest Huskies 14
The West Panthers knocked on the door of 80 points in their big win over the Hillcrest Huskies in week six. West opened the game with 37 points in the first quarter, and followed that with 28 more in the second. Panthers running back Louie Hamilton punched in five rushing touchdowns. Quarterback Kamden Lopati also had five touchdowns, two through the air and three with his legs.

Clearfield Falcons 7 @ West Field Longhorns 34
The West Field Longhorns scored 17 points in the fourth quarter to run away with a week six win over the Clearfield Falcons. Quarterback Easton Eilertson threw four passing touchdowns in the win, three of which went to Gavin Ortegon. Clearfield’s one touchdown came in the second quarter on a 95-yard kick return from Bryson Ridge.
No. 5 Fremont Silverwolves 35 @ Northridge Knights 13
The Fremont Silverwolves improved to 5-1 with their big win over the Northridge Knights on Friday. Fremont quarterback Manase Tuatagaloa connected with Slade Parker for two touchdowns. Triston Mann returned a punt for six in the first quarter to give the Silverwolves a 14-0 lead.

Brighton Bengals 42 @ No. 24 Viewmont Vikings 14
The Brighton Bengals scored 35 of their 42 points in the first half of their win over the Viewmont Vikings in week six. Bengals running back Staton Gutierrez had over 100 yards on the ground and punched in five rushing touchdowns.
No. 22 Alta Hawks 22 @ Olympus Titans 45
The Olympus Titans turned up the heat after the first quarter to pick up their third win of the season over the Alta Hawks on Friday. Alta opened the game with nine unanswered points. Olympus responded with 10 points in the second quarter and followed that with 21 in the third. Olympus put a cherry on top of their win with a 50-yard rushing TD and a 31-yard pick-six in the final three minutes.

Wasatch Wasps 3 @ No. 12 Orem Tigers 45
The Orem Tigers scored 10 or more points in each of the first three quarters as they picked up a big win over the Wasatch Wasps in week six. The Tigers scored six touchdowns, three on the ground and three through the air. Both Kaue Akana and Aisa Galea’i scored twice.
No. 14 Springville Red Devils 54 @ Payson Lions 6
The Springville Red Devils scored 40 of their 54 points in the first half of their win over the Payson Lions on Friday. Payson actually opened the scoring with a 60-yard bomb about a minute after kickoff. It was all Springville from there, with Tua Naufahu and Siaosi Toki each finding the end zone twice.
Timpview Thunderbirds 44 @ Maple Mountain Golden Eagles 20
The Timpview Thunderbirds scored all 44 of their points through the first three quarters of their big win over the Maple Mountain Golden Eagles in week six. Four of their five offensive scores came on the ground, with Lincoln Horito punching in six twice. Braxton Wilkerson opened the scoring with a 60-yard pick-six.
Spanish Fork Dons 28 @ Pleasant Grove Vikings 42
The Pleasant Grove Vikings scored 21 points in the first quarter and cruised to a two-score victory over the Spanish Fork Dons on Friday. Ryder Huntsman had a hat trick of receiving touchdowns for the Vikings.
