Tony Finau To Play Alongside World Number One & Former Masters Champion At Augusta National

SALT LAKE CITY – Tony Finau will play alongside the current world number one golfer Scottie Scheffler and the 2013 Masters Champion Adam Scott throughout the opening two rounds of The Masters, it was announced today.
The trio will be the 16th group to tee off at Augusta National. On Thursday, they will embark off the first tee at 8:56 a.m. and on Friday they will begin at 12:03 p.m MT.

Interestingly, Finau and his group tee off two groups behind Tiger Woods, who announced this morning that he plans on playing in the tournament after multiple days of practice. Woods was asked if he thinks that he could win this week to which he answered “I do.” Woods is partnered with Louis Oosthuizen and Joaquín Niemann.

Scott, 41, has had success at Augusta National in the past when he won the 2013 Masters beating Angel Cabrera in a playoff. Since the 2013 victory, Scott has won four PGA Tour tournaments with his most recent occurring in 2020 when he won The Genesis Invitational.
Finau’s history at The Masters suggests that the Utah native will once again be in contention late on Sunday. In his four Masters appearances, Finau has finished in a top 10 finish on 3 occasions with his best result occurring in 2019 when he ended in a tie for 5th and played in the final group alongside eventual champion Tiger Woods.

The opening two rounds of The Masters will be broadcast via ESPN and ESPN+ while the final two rounds will be broadcast nationally via CBS. The Masters app and The Masters dot com will also provide coverage for fans to tune into.
