SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former Brighton High School star wide receiver Simi Fehoko announced he will declare for the NFL Draft and not return to Stanford.

Simi Fehoko finished his junior season with Stanford and could’ve returned for his “super junior” season since eligibility was frozen during the 2020 campaign.

The 6’4 star wide receiver announced his decision on Monday morning via Twitter.

“I would like to start by thanking my Heavenly Father. Without the constant blessings he has given me, I wouldn’t be where I am at today. I would also like to thank my family and my wife for being my rock and constant support throughout these crazy times; I am lucky to have them in my corner,” Fehoko wrote. “To Coach Shaw, Coach Pritchard, Coach BK, Coach Alamar and the rest of the coaching staff, thank you. Thank you for believing in me and giving me my shot to come here and play. Thank you for developing me into the player I am today.

“Lastly, to my brothers! These past three years I have made memories that I will never forget. I am grateful for the opportunity I had to attend Stanford and be surrounded by all of you. You are all teammates, you are all brothers, we will always be family,” Fehoko added. “That being said, it has always been a dream and goal of mine to play at the next level. I have decided to forgo my senior year and enter my name in the 2021 NFL Draft. Thank you to everyone who has been apart of my journey.”

Fehoko had a breakout season in just six games in 2020, earning first team All-Pac-12 honors. In those six games, he hauled in a team-high 37 receptions for 574 yards and 3 touchdowns. His best game this season came in the finale against UCLA where he had 16 receptions for 230 yards and 3 touchdowns in the win.

In three seasons with the Cardinal, Fehoko had 62 receptions for for 1,146 yards and 9 TD’s. Before he arrived at Stanford, Fehoko served a two-year church mission. He played in four games as a freshman in 2018. As a sophomore in 2019, he had 24 catches for 566 yards and 6 touchdowns.

Coming out of Brighton High School, Fehoko was the No. 1 recruit in the state of Utah in the 2016 class and the 32nd rated receiver in the nation. As a four-star prospect, Fehoko received offers from Clemson, Colorado, Michigan, Nebraska, Utah and Washington before deciding to go to Stanford.
