Report: Former Runnin’ Utes Guard Delon Wright Traded From Pistons To Kings

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Sacramento Kings traded the Detroit Pistons for former Utah Utes guard Delon Wright, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

The NBA insider reported the deal at 10:26 p.m. (MDT) on Wednesday, March 24.
The league’s trade deadline for the 2020-21 season is on March 25.
Wojnarowski reported that the trade involves Sacramento sending Corey Joseph and a pair of second-round picks to Detroit.
“The Detroit Pistons are trading guard Delon Wright to the Sacramento Kings for guard Cory Joseph and two second-round picks, sources tell ESPN,” Wojnarowski tweeted.

About Delon Wright
Prior to his NBA career, Wright starred at the University of Utah.
He played for the Utes from 2013-15 and received multiple First Team All-Pac-12 honors.
After his time with Utah, Wright was selected by the Toronto Raptors with the No. 20 overall pick in the 2015 NBA Draft.

Wright played the first 3.5 years of his career north of the border.
Midway through the 2018-19 season, Toronto traded Wright to the Memphis Grizzlies.

Before the 2019-20 season, the Grizzlies sent the former Utah standout to the Dallas Mavericks as part of a sign-and-trade deal.

In November 2020, Wright was traded to the Pistons.
This season, Wright is averaging 10.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 5.1 assists in 35 games, including 30 starts.
