Alex Smith Seen Throwing At Redskins OTA’s

WASHINGTON D.C. – Six months after suffering a gruesome injury, former Ute Alex Smith was spotted at the Washington Redskins OTA’s.
Smith suffered the injury in November and his football career remains in doubt but it is a good sign to see him throwing a football, just six months later.
The Redskins used their first round draft pick to secure their future at the quarterback position when they selected Dwayne Haskins from Ohio State.

After many surgeries following the injury, Smith was dealing with some serious infections, but it seems as though that isn’t an issue anymore.
When the injury happened, Smith brok his tibia and fibula. It was reported months ago that the Redskins do not expect Smith to be available at all during the 2019 season. Which is why they selected a quarterback in the draft.
The former Ute was traded to the Redskins during the off-season leading up to the 2018 season because the Kansas City Chiefs were ready to hand the starting quarterback position off to Patrick Mahomes, who was named the league MVP at the end of the season.
Earlier this month, Smith was seen wearing an external fixator on his injured leg.
