Baltimore Ravens Sign Former BYU Running Back Ty’Son Williams

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Baltimore Ravens added depth to their running back room by signing former BYU RB Ty’Son Williams following a workout earlier in the week.

According to the NFL’s transaction list, Williams officially joined the Ravens’ roster on Friday, August 28.

Baltimore was in need of more depth at the position with injuries to Kenjon Barner and Justice Hill.

Williams was already a familiar player to the Baltimore organization.

Following the 2020 NFL Draft in April, Williams posted on his Instagram account that he had signed an undrafted free agent deal with the Ravens.

Ty’Son Williams at BYU

After playing at North Carolina and South Carolina, Williams transferred to BYU for his senior season in 2019. He was named BYU’s starting running back before the start of the season.

Williams played in four games for the Cougars before suffering a season-ending knee injury.

During his time at BYU, Williams ran the ball 49 times for 264 yards and three touchdowns. The Cougars went 2-2 in the games that Williams appeared in.

After the season, he announced that he would forgo pursuing a medical redshirt and work to play in the NFL.
