Chiefs Safety Daniel Sorensen Prevents Browns Touchdown With Forced Fumble At Goal Line

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Former BYU and current Kansas City Chiefs safety Daniel Sorensen caused a fumble at the goal line to prevent a touchdown by the Cleveland Browns.

Sorensen and the Chiefs hosted the Browns in the AFC Divisional Round on Sunday, January 17.
With 1:42 left in the second quarter, Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield completed a pass to wide receiver Rashard Higgins. As Higgins ran towards the end zone, Sorensen lowered his head and forced the receiver to fumble the ball.
After the pigskin was knocked loose, it tumbled across the goal line and out of bounds for a touchback.

Officials reviewed the ball and the call on the field was upheld.

Kansas City marched 70 yards down the field before kicking a field goal on the following possession.
At the halftime break, the Chiefs owned a 19-3 lead.

During the first 30 minutes of action, Sorensen had two tackles.
