Lions RB Jamaal Williams Powers For Two-Point Conversion Against Packers

SALT LAKE CITY – Former BYU and current Detroit Lions running back Jamaal Williams ran for a two-point conversion during Week 9 against the Green Bay Packers.
The Lions hosted the Packers at Ford Field on Sunday, November 6.
With 15 seconds remaining in the first half, Lions quarterback Jared Goff connected with Shane Zylstra for a touchdown and the first points of the game. After a running into the kicker penalty by the Packers on Detroit’s extra-point attempt, the Lions decided to go for two with the ball moved up to the one-yard line. Goff handed the ball off to Williams and the former BYU running back rushed into the end zone for two points.

Williams’ run pushed Detroit’s lead to 8-0.
After the two-point run, Williams had 12 carries for 44 yards.
The Lions took the 8-0 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Entering the game, Williams had run the ball 102 times for 464 yards and eight touchdowns this season.
During his NFL career, Williams has rushed 755 times for 3,050 yards and 21 touchdowns in 80 games played. He’s also hauled in 157 receptions for 1,175 yards and eight touchdowns.

About Jamaal Williams
Before his time in the NFL, Williams was a star at BYU. He finished his time in Provo as the Cougars’ all-time leading rusher in both career and single-yard yards.
During his time at BYU (2012-14, 2016), Williams ran the ball 726 times for 3,901 yards and 35 touchdowns. He also had 60 receptions for 567 yards and a touchdown. Williams only lost two fumbles during his college career.
Following his time at BYU, the Southern California native was selected by the Green Bay Packers during the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He played the first four seasons of his professional career with the Packers before signing with Lions in 2021.
