SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Former Utah linebacker Devin Lloyd grabbed his second interception of the season after 49ers star Christian McCaffrey failed to pull in a catch in the middle of the field.

Lloyd got off to a quick start in San Francisco. Over the first three drives, he posted three total tackles (two solo), a tackle for loss, and the interception.

Lloyd’s career high for interceptions was set back in his rookie year in 2022 when he pulled down three.

Jacksonville capitalized on the turnover forced by Lloyd, marching down the other way and extending its lead to 14-3.

In the third quarter, Lloyd did it again, picking off Brock Purdy in the middle of the field to make it two interceptions for the game and three for the season.

The former Ute’s career-high for interceptions in a season is three, which he has already tied in week four. He has plenty of time left in the season to demolish his old best.

During his Utah career, Lloyd had 256 total tackles, 150 solo tackles, 16.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, five interceptions, eight pass breakups, and three touchdowns.

Lloyd was selected by the Jaguars with the No. 27 overall pick during the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
