Former BYU LB Harvey Langi Will Start For New York Jets In Week One

NEW YORK – Former BYU star linebacker Harvey Langi will be starting for the New York Jets in week one of the 2019 NFL season.
The Jets who play a 3-4 defense will feature Langi at one of their outside linebacker spots along with Jordan Jenkins.
Langi, who’s entering his third season in the NFL and the first full season with the Jets, has only played in one game in his professional career.
Langi’s one appearance in a game was with the New England Patriots in 2017. During that season, Langi was in a horrific car wreck along with his wife that took him away from the football field.

The Jets open up their season this Sunday against AFC East division foe the Buffalo Bills at MetLife Stadium this Sunday at 11 a.m. (MDT).
Also on the Jets is former BYU defensive end Bronson Kaufusi. Kaufusi had three starts during preseason games at defensive end for the Jets.
During his three-year career at BYU, Langi played a variety of positions from defensive end to outside linebacker. Langi racked up 139 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, and 6.5 sacks.
After graduating from BYU, Langi signed the richest undrafted free agent contract with the Patriots that included $100,000 of guaranteed money.
