Former BYU QB Zach Wilson, wife Nicolette welcome baby girl 7 weeks early

Zach Wilson couldn’t wait to be a new father, and neither could his newborn daughter.
The former BYU quarterback and his wife Nicolette welcomed a baby girl, Francesca Belle, over the weekend after nearly three weeks in the NICU while “growing stronger every single day,” the baby’s mother posted on Instagram.
The 27-year-old quarterback out of Draper’s Corner Canyon High School who signed a one-year deal with the New Orleans Saints in March and his wife, 24, announced the baby’s arrival Aug. 6 in a joint post on Instagram where they could be seen cuddling the newborn together in a what looks like a hospital chair.
The couple announced they were expecting back in April with a series of photos from Nicolette’s maternity shot, holding a sonogram of the developing baby in several images. Just over four months later, baby Francesca — or “Miss Frankie Girl,” as her mother called her — arrived seven weeks early to the care of doctors in the neonatal intensive care unit, according to the new mother.
“Miss Frankie Girl, you’ve already changed our lives in the most beautiful way,” Nicolette said. “You’ve filled our hearts with a love we never knew was possible, and we couldn’t love you more, sweet baby girl!!!”

The Wilsons announced their engagement in June 2024 with photos of the couple and an engagement ring from a vacation spot in Amalfi, Italy, according to PEOPLE Magazine. A little over a year later in November 2025, Nicolette shared photos of the couple’s Utah home as it was being built near the bench of the Wasatch Front.
Wilson signed a one-year deal with New Orleans, where he is likely to back up Tyler Shough after the 2025 second-round pick’s strong rookie season. The Saints also brought back former South Carolina quarterback Spencer Rattler and three-year signal caller Hunter Dekkers after the Iowa Western product spent most of last season on the team’s practice squad.
Drafted with the No. 2 overall pick by the New York Jets in 2021, Wilson spent five seasons in the Big Apple completing 57% of his passes for 6,325 yards and 23 touchdowns with 25 interceptions.
After being traded to Denver in 2024, Wilson did not appear in a game all season and the Broncos did not pick up his fifth-year option.
That left Wilson open to sign a one-year, $6 million contract with the Miami Dolphins, where he appeared in four games while backing up Tua Tagavailoa before then-rookie Quinn Ewers was named the starter.
