Giants select BYU’s Jack Kelly in sixth round of 2026 NFL draft

PITTSBURGH — Jack Kelly is taking his BMX talents to East Rutherford.
The New York Giants selected the former BYU linebacker with the 12th pick of the sixth round (No. 193 overall) in Saturday’s final day of the 2026 NFL Draft.
The former FCS star at Weber State from Kearns High wrapped up his collegiate career with two seasons in Provo, where he totaled 185 tackles, 28 sacks and two interceptions for the Cougars.

The NFL Draft was held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, from April 23–25. The event was televised on ESPN, ABC, and the NFL Network.

Kelly joins a Giants team that went 4-13 and last place in the NFC East a year ago before bringing in John Harbaugh as head coach.
The 6-foot-2 linebacker brings good balance and functional movement to the defense for his size, as well as solid instincts in zone coverage that could help him find a spot on the roster.
About Jack Kelly
Kelly attended Kearns High School, where he played on both sides of the ball and earned a three-star designation from 247 Sports. He was ranked as the 28th-best prospect in the state of Utah and the 216th-best linebacker in the country.
He started his collegiate career at Weber State. After four appearances as a true freshman with the Wildcats, Kelly became one of the best defensive players in the Big Sky Conference as a sophomore and junior.
In 28 games played with Weber State, Kelly posted 85 tackles, 20 tackles for loss, 16.5 sacks, five forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, seven pass breakups, and an interception.
He transferred to BYU prior to the 2024-2025 season and quickly showed his game translates to Power Four football.
Over 25 games with the Cougars, Kelly recorded 106 total tackles (75 solo), 23.5 tackles for loss, 15 sacks, four forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, two pass breakups, and one interception.
He was named the College Football Network’s Big 12 Defensive Newcomer of the Year and Defensive Transfer of the Year in 2024.
