The biggest hurdle of the NFL offseason—free agency—is officially in motion.
Multiple players with local ties have put pen to paper to either stay around or move on to their next chapter.

Utah Utes
Former Utah QB Tyler Huntley is staying put in the AFC North.
Huntley signed a two-year, $11 million deal to remain the backup to Lamar Jackson in Baltimore.

Former Utah kicker Matt Gay is headed to his fourth team in two years.
Gay signed with the Las Vegas Raiders, his closest stop to home since becoming a pro in 2019.

Former Utah LB and first-round pick Devin Lloyd is taking his talents to Carolina after posting a career year with the Jaguars in 2025.
His contract was a reported three-year, $45 million deal with $25 million fully guaranteed.

After a scorching start to the season in New Orleans, former Utah safety Julian Blackmon went down with a season-ending injury.
However, the Saints gave him a second chance, signing a one-year contract extension.

BYU Cougars
Former BYU running back signed a two-year, $12 million deal with the Arizona Cardinals.
After spending his first four seasons with Atlanta, the team that drafted him in 2022, he moves on to a new franchise.

Former BYU defensive tackle Khyiris Tonga is headed from one storied AFC franchise to another, signing with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Tonga’s contract is reported to be a three-year, $21 million deal.

Utah State Aggies
Former USU cornerback Jalen Davis signed a one-year extension and will stay with the Cincinnati Bengals.
Davis played in seven games in 2025 and forced two turnovers.

Weber State Wildcats
Former Weber State cornerback Taron Johnson was the only local to get traded in free agency.
Johnson got sent to Las Vegas for a sixth-round pick.

Former Weber State WR Rashid Shaheed just won a Super Bowl in Seattle, and he’s sticking with the Seahawks.
The wideout and special teams star signed a three-year, $51 million deal with $34.7 million guaranteed.

High School Standouts
Judge Memorial High standout LB Kaden Elliss is staying in the NFC South, but moving on to the New Orleans Saints.
Jordan Schultz reported he signed a three-year, $33 million deal.

Bingham High star TE Dalton Schultz signed a one-year extension worth up to $12.6 million with Houston.
The deal made Schultz the eighth-highest-paid tight end in the NFL annually.
