Seahawks Sign Former BYU DE Ziggy Ansah

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – According to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, the Seattle Seahawks have come to an agreement with former BYU defensive end and free agent Ziggy Ansah.
The Seahawks are looking for a veteran pass rusher after trading away Frank Clark. Ansah would fit the need for Seattle.
Ansah is 29-years-old and just finished his sixth NFL season, all with the Detroit Lions. Last season, the star defensive end was dealing with injuries and played in seven games.

Through his NFL career, Ansah has recorded 48 sacks, including two seasons of over 10.
The former Cougar came to the BYU football program after being converted to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by missionaries in Ghana. Following an impressive career at BYU, he was drafted with the fifth overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft by the Bills.

Seattle should become a favorite team for fans looking to see former college stars from the Beehive State. The Seahawks drafted two former Ute defenders in the 2019 NFL Draft with Marquise Blair in the second round and Cody Barton in the third round.
