Taysom Hill Throws First Passing TD In Over Two Years In Saints Win

NEW ORLEANS — Former BYU quarterback Taysom Hill ended a passing touchdown dry streak as the New Orleans Saints hosted the New York Jets in week 16.
Hill lined up under center and found Chris Olave right down the center of the field from 38 yards out.

Over the last two years, Hill has been used much more as a rusher and a tight end than as a pass thrower. As a result, his last TD through teh air came on Novemeber 5, 2023, against the Chicago Bears.
Even in the Jets game, he only through one pass. It just so happened his one drop back ended in six.
Everything was clicking for New Orleans against New York. They ended up victorious in blowout fashion, 29-6, making it three straight wins for the black and gold.
About Taysom Hill
Prior to his NFL career, the Idaho native was a quarterback at BYU. Hill played for the Cougars from 2012-16.
During his college career, Hill threw for 6,929 yards, 43 touchdowns, and 31 interceptions. He ran for 2,815 yards and 32 touchdowns.
After going undrafted, Hill signed a free-agent deal with the Green Bay Packers. Before the regular season, Hill was waived by the Packers and picked up by the Saints. Since then, Hill has become a key piece of New Orleans’ offense.

During his NFL career, Hill has played multiple positions, including quarterback, running back, wide receiver, and tight end.
In 2024, Hill played in eight games before going down with a season-ending injury. In those eight games, he had 187 receiving yards, 278 rushing yards, and also dropped back to completed two of four passing attempts. He had six touchdowns on the season, all of which came on the ground.
He’s scored 45 touchdowns during his NFL career.
