Warner Continues To Shine For Struggling San Francisco

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Week 8 of the NFL season is in the books. Many of the storylines haven’t changed from week to week. Taysom Hill continued to impress with by getting on the field for multiple situations and playing well. Fellow BYU alum Fred Warner extended his playing streak by staying on the field for every single snap of the 49ers’ loss to Arizona.

Here’s how former college stars from Utah performed on the big stage this last week:

Former Utes

Tony Bergstrom – Redskins (5-2)
Bergstrom saw action in five special teams snaps in the Redskins’ 20-13 win over the struggling Giants.

Garett Bolles – Broncos (3-5)
Bolles started and played every snap at left tackle in the Broncos’ 30-23 loss to the Chiefs.

Devontae Booker – Broncos (3-5)
Booker had one rush for three yards and played in 32 offensive snaps in Denver’s loss to Kansas City.

Kylie Fitts – Bears (4-3)
Fitts got his first action of his career, playing in seven defensive snaps and two special teams plays for the Bears, who defeated the Jets 24-10.

Dominique Hatfield – Rams (8-0)
The former Utah cornerback and L.A. native played in 31 special teams plays for the undefeated Rams, who grinded out a 29-27 win over the Packers.

Star Lotulelei – Bills (2-5)
Lotulelei is expected to play on Monday Night Football against the Patriots. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.

Tim Patrick – Broncos (3-5)
It was a memorable day for Patrick as he hauled in his first touchdown of his career. The TD came on a 24-yard strike from quarter Case Keenum that put cut the Kansas City lead to 16-14 in the second quarter. The Chiefs, however, separated themselves from the Broncos in the second half en route to a 30-23 victory.

Eric Rowe – Patriots (5-2)
Rowe is expected to play on Monday Night Football against the Bills. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.

Alex Smith – Redskins (5-2)
The former Ute and Heisman trophy finalist finished completing 20-for-32 passes and a touchdown. He also made a game-saving tackle after a fourth-quarter fumble by Adrian Peterson in the Redskins’ 20-13 win over the hapless Giants.

Eric Weddle – Ravens (4-4)
Weddle had five solo tackles and one assisted tackle in a 36-21 loss to the Panthers.

Marcus Williams – Saints (6-1)
The second-year pro finished with five solo tackles and one pass deflections in a 30-20 win over the Vikings.

Former Aggies

Kyler Fackrell – Packers (3-3-1)
Fackrell had a first-down sack on Jared Goff to go along with a two tackles in a 29-27 loss to the unbeaten Rams.

Tyler Larsen – Panthers (5-2)
Larsen came in a reserve role for two offensive snaps at center for the Panthers. He also played in six special teams plays for Carolina in a 36-21 win over the Ravens.

Nevin Lawson – Lions (3-4)
Lawson got the start at cornerback and finished with two tackles in the Lions’ 28-14 home loss to the Seahawks.

Patrick Scales – Bears (4-3)
Scales was in the game for 10 special teams snaps in the Bears’ 24-10 victory over the Jets.

Zach Vigil – Redskins (5-2)
Vigil played in 24 special teams plays for the Redskins, which defeated the Giants 20-13.

Bobby Wagner – Seahawks (4-3)
Wagner had a season high in solo tackles with six and also got a hand in two assisted tackles in a 28-14 win over the Lions.

John Denney – Dolphins (4-4)
The long-time long snapper executed 10 special teams snaps in a 42-23 loss to Houston on Thursday night.
NEXT UP: vs. Jets (3-5), Sunday at 11 a.m. on CBS.

Taysom Hill – Saints (6-1)
Hill packed the box score in a 30-20 win over the Vikings. Hill had three rushes for minus-two yards in addition to one reception for five yards. He also completed one pass for 44 yards and had two kick returns for a total of 50 yards. The Saints beat the Vikings 30-20.

Kyle Van Noy – Patriots (5-2)
Van Noy is expected to play on Monday Night Football against the Bills. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.

Fred Warner – 49ers (1-7)
Warner had seven combined tackles, including six solo takedowns. He also had his first fumble recovery
while also continuing his ironman streak of playing on every single defensive snap of the 49ers’ season. The Niners fell to the Cardinals in heartbreaking fashion, 18-15.

Jamaal Williams – Packers (3-3-1)
Williams four rushes for nine total yards, including a 1-yard scamper for his first touchdown of the season in a 29-27 loss to the Rams.
