Denzer Guzman earns PCL Player of the Month with Salt Lake Bees

SOUTH JORDAN, Utah – Los Angeles Angels No. 7 prospect Denzer Guzman has been on fire of late, carrying the Salt Lake Bees with his hot bat.
The 22-year-old infielder raked in May, earning PCL Player of the Month after hitting .382 with a 1.102 OPS in 28 games.

Guzman led the Pacific Coast League in batting average, hits (42), doubles (12), total bases (72), RBI (31), and slugging percentage (.655) while leading the Bees to a 16-10 May record.
He had the first two multi-HR games of his career and a career-high six RBI against El Paso on May 12.
The 42 hits match Terry Evans’s (2007) Bees’ franchise record in May. His .382 average was the third-highest for a Bee in May.

He hit .600 with runners in scoring position, driving in 27 runs on 18 hits in such situations.
Guzman is the first Bees position player to earn PCL Player of the Month honors since David McKinnon in May 2022.

A native of the Dominican Republic, the Angels signed Guzman for $2 million in January 2021. At the time, he was No. 28 on MLB Pipeline’s Top 30 International Prospects list.
Listed at 6’1″ and 190 pounds, Guzman steadily climbed the organizational chart, reaching Double-A Rocket City in 2024.
After hitting a career-high six home runs in 2024, Guzman truly tapped into his power potential with 17 longballs and 38 extra base hits between Rocket City and Salt Lake in 2025.

He slashed .262/.366/.454 with Triple-A Salt Lake, adding six homers, seven doubles, and 21 RBI in 36 games with the Bees.
The performance was enough to earn Guzman a 13-game mid-September call-up to the Angels, where he struggled catching up to big league arm talent.
Guzman’s production has skyrocketed this year.
His .327 average is easily the best of his brief career, nearly 50 points better than 2022 when he hit .278 between rookie and A-ball.
He has 11 homers this year with a PCL-leading 55 RBI.
