SOUTH JORDAN, Utah – It was a night of celebration for the Salt Lake Bees as they welcomed fans into The Ballpark at America First Square for the first time. Not lost in the 13-10 win was a fan experience that rivals any big league ballpark nationwide.
A deep green color scheme and rustic red brick facades harken back to the days of yore and parks like Wrigley Field and Fenway, while mini golf, the famed berm, and an outfield train ride for the kids litter the concourse with activities for folks of all ages.

The Bees, Triple-A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, played the first game at their new hive on Tuesday, April 8.

Fan experience paramount at new Daybreak ballpark
Before entering the park from the northwest home plate entrance, fans are greeted by a depiction of the Wasatch Mountain Range on the front-facing metal facade. As an excellent touch, the range is backlit at night, showing the beauty of Utah’s breathtaking landscape.
From the moment patrons enter through the home plate entrance, a massive leftfield video board draws your eyes. Displaying everything from pitcher and hitter stats to full team lineups and the line score, the board is one of the largest in MiLB.

Matching the videoboard is an expansive concourse area that alleviates the usual crush of foot traffic.
An ivy-covered batter’s eye adds to the nostalgia while reducing glare for hitters at the plate. For those entering from beyond the outfield wall, a script Salt Lake Bees neon sign greets fans entering the concourse.
Nearly every seat in the house provides a breathtaking view of the mountains, a staple in any Beehive State ballpark.
Concessions convenience
Scattered throughout the concourse area, you can find ballpark favorites like burgers, hot dogs, nachos, and grab-and-go food choices to satisfy any sweet treat craving.

Every concourse area offers multiple food options, including Bumble’s BBQ, Catcher’s Santina, Grand Slam Grill, and several drink selections.
Add in an expected rotation of local food trucks, and the ballpark will be where you can try something new every day.
Ballpark seating options
Field-level suites directly behind home plate allow fans to be closer to the batter than the pitcher. A two-tiered, main grandstand reminds fans of a big league park, minus the third deck.
Beyond the fan-filled right field berm, the flags whipped all night in the wind, leading to four home runs and 23 total runs in an old-fashioned Pacific Coast League slugfest. If the new home continues to play this way, baseball lovers will get their money’s worth all season.

Beneath these seats also lie the home and away bullpens. This setup allows fans a unique perspective of observing relievers from an overhead view, similar to the MLB bullpen setup employed by the Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park.
Scattered across the ballpark are premium seating areas with luxury recliners that more closely resemble a movie theater than a way to watch baseball. Additional premium terrace seating for group-style events is available on the park’s second level, creating opportunities for groups of all sizes to enjoy a day of baseball.
For the kids
Minor League Baseball is a family affair, and the Bees have made every effort to offer a variety of fun gameday activities to keep the kids busy between innings.
Beyond the third-base line grandstands is a nine-hole miniature golf course, cornhole, face-painting throughout opening week, and ample picnic table seating. The outfield train also made the trip from the Bees’ former home, making circular passes beyond the outfield walls.
Continuing construction through the summer will add an on-site playground.
Ease ballpark travel with UTA Trax
After the new ballpark was announced, many fans were concerned about how difficult getting to and from The Ballpark would be. Ample parking is available in the burgeoning area, but public transportation may be the best option for many.

A new UTA Red Line stop recently opened beyond the outfield walls, meaning fans will walk less than 200 yards before entering the field.
