Real Salt Lake Adds Morgan Guilavogui As Designated Player

SANDY, Utah – In need of more scoring punch, Real Salt Lake has acquired designated player Morgan Guilavogui from RC Lens of the French Ligue 1.
The permanent transfer keeps Guilavogui in Claret & Cobalt through 2028-29, and includes a club option for the 2029-30 season.
The club announced the addition on Tuesday, February 3.
“I’m very excited to begin. Coming from Europe, the MLS product is spectacular, and I’m looking forward to participating in the show,” said the French-born Guilavogui, a native of Toulon, who has appeared in 18 games for his father’s nation, Guinea, scoring twice. “To the fans, I’m excited to see you at America First Field and win a lot of games.”

We’re confident his quality and intelligence will be instrumental in generating scoring opportunities as we continue to build a dynamic, multifaceted attack.”

About Morgan Guilavogui
The 6’2″, 26-year-old wing or attacking midfielder scored three goals with RC Lens in 46 first division appearances.
Guilavogui added seven goals during a year-long loan with FC St. Pauli of the German Bundesliga.

His pro career began at 18-years-old when he signed with SC Toulon, his hometown club. Guilavogui scored 17 goals in 63 matches with Toulon.
He has two international goals for Guinea, both coming in the 2023 African Cup of Nations.
