Real Salt Lake Acquires Top Allocation Ranking Opening Door For Savarino Signing

SALT LAKE CITY – Real Salt Lake has acquired the top spot in the Major League Soccer allocation ranking, suggesting a new arrival is shortly forthcoming.
The trades are only valid should the club select a player before the end of the primary transfer window which is slated to end at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, May 4. Once Real Salt Lake acquires a player FC Cincinnati will return to the top of the order while Real Salt Lake will fall to the bottom.

The details of the deal were explained by Real Salt Lake in a club statement.
“Initially, Real Salt Lake acquired the No. 2 Allocation Ranking from Austin FC in exchange for a total of $325,000 ($200,000 in 2022 + $125,000 in 2023) in General Allocation Money (GAM), and the No. 22 overall Allocation Ranking. RSL then sent the No. 2 spot plus $125,000 in 2022 GAM to FC Cincinnati in exchange for the No. 1 overall spot in the current order. Should certain incentives be achieved throughout the 2022 season by the player potentially acquired with the No. 1 selection, RSL would send an additional $25,000 in conditional GAM to FC Cincinnati.”
