Real Salt Lake Deals GK Gavin Beavers To Danish Side Brøndby IF

SANDY, Utah- Training camp is underway as Real Salt Lake gears up for another MLS season with the first two preseason matches for the Claret-and-Cobalt coming later this week against NYCFC and Minnesota.
However, the revamp in action has not slowed transactions as Real Salt Lake has just finalized the transfer of homegrown goalkeeper Gavin Beavers to Brøndby IF, members of the Danish Superliga and located just outside of Copenhagen. The transfer will take place immediately as Brøndby plans to introduce Beavers tonight at the team’s headquarters.

The 19-year-old made 13 starts for Real Salt Lake last season, 11 in the MLS Regular Season, and two in the Leagues Cup. Gavin posted an impressive record of 7W-4L-2T as a starter, clearly earning the attention of talent-seeking clubs in Europe.
Beavers was not only exceptional for club but also showed out for country as he preserved a clean sheet in the USMNT U-20 team’s 3-0 win over Chile in a friendly back in October. In fact, Beavers was not even a participant in the early stages of RSL’s training camp, having received an exemption due to his selection to the national team’s U-20 camp.
The financial details of the Gavin Beavers transfer to Brøndby IF have not yet been made known.
The transfer comes just a day after Real Salt Lake signed veteran Brazilian goalkeeper Rafael Cabral to a four-year deal that includes a club option in 2027 and 2028. Additionally, last week the RSL front offices made a trade for Orlando City keeper Mason Stajduhar.

Real Salt Lake travels to Santa Barbara, California, on Thursday, January 23, for training camp. The Claret & Cobalt will open the 2025 MLS season against former striker Chicho Arango and the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday, February 22.
