SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz are back on another winning streak as they beat the San Antonio Spurs 110-99 for their second straight win on Monday.

Bojan Bogdanovic led the way for the Jazz with 25 points on 10-of-17 shooting from the field in the win over the Spurs. Rudy Gobert recorded a double-double with 24 points and 15 rebounds, along with 3 blocks. Jordan Clarkson chipped in 16 points off the bench.

DeMar DeRozan had 22 points to lead the Spurs. Rudy Gay added 17 points off the bench and Dejounte Murray poured in 15 points.

The Jazz were once again without Donovan Mitchell and Mike Conley due to injuries.

Jazz Shoot Well In First Half Against Spurs

The game looked like it was going to go in Utah’s favor right from the jump when the Jazz scored the first five points in 40 seconds, forcing Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich to call a rare timeout that early into the game.

The Jazz went on to shoot 52 percent from the field in the first quarter and outscored the Spurs 31-22. Six Utah players scored out of the eight that entered the game in the first period.

The second quarter was fairly similar as Utah was effective shooting the ball, hitting 54 percent of their field goals and outscored San Antonio 29-21. Bojan Bogdanovic and Rudy Gobert scored 9 points apiece. The Spurs made 47 percent of their field goals but struggled on the defensive end.

Utah took a 60-43 lead into the halftime break. Bogdanovic led the way with 17 points, while both Jordan Clarkson and Rudy Gobert scored 12 points apiece. The Jazz shot 53 percent in the first half.

Jazz Close Out Game With Strong Second Half

It was looking like the Jazz were going to run the Spurs out of the building when they had a 25-point lead in the third quarter but San Antonio bounced back and evened up the third quarter at 29 points apiece. The Jazz still had a big lead going into the fourth quarter, 89-72.

In the fourth quarter the Spurs pulled within 14 points with under nine minutes left on a mini-run but Joe Ingles knocked down a three to stretch the lead back to 17. Down the stretch, the Spurs kept hanging within 14-15 points of the Jazz but couldn’t get much closer than that.

The Jazz improved their record to 47-18 on the season and are back in the No. 1 spot in the Western Conference standings. They will have a rematch with the Spurs on Wednesday, May 5 at Vivint Arena. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. MDT and will be broadcast on AT&T SportsNet.
