SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah Jazz guard Dante Exum just can’t catch a break when it comes to staying healthy.

Just three games back from missing the previous 25 with a sprained ankle, Exum left the Jazz’s game on Thursday against the Minnesota Timberwolves with what was called soreness in his right knee. Following an MRI exam, it’s been revealed that the Australian-born point guard has a partially torn patellar tendon, according to a press release put out by the team.

There is no timetable on his return and Exum is listed as out indefinitely.

Exum was selected by the Jazz with the fifth overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. He played in every single game of his rookie year, but since has struggled to remain healthy.

He tore his ACL in his left knee prior to the 2015-16 season, forcing him to miss the entire year.

After returning to play in 66 games in the 2016-17 season, he suffered a separated shoulder in the preseason prior to the 2017-18 season. He suited up for just 14 games towards the end of that season.

This year, he has appeared in 42 games, averaging 6.9 points on 15.8 minutes per game.

The Jazz will next take the floor on Saturday at 7 p.m. against the Brooklyn Nets.
