SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz will host the Portland Trail Blazers before enjoying a rare stretch of three nights off.

They will have Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday off before facing the Boston Celtics on Friday in Salt Lake City, then heading out on a four-game road trip.

The Trail Blazers meanwhile are stopping in Utah in the final game of a three-game road trip, hoping to avoid going home empty-handed after dropping the first two games of the West Coast swing.

Jazz Look To Build Momentum

After a shocking loss to the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday night in which the team look fully disconnected from one another, the Jazz bounced back with a blowout victory over the same Pelicans roster one night later.

The Jazz set season-highs connecting on 20 three-pointers while shooting a scorching 57 from behind the arc.

The team also set their best mark of the season shooting 56 percent from the floor.

Donovan Mitchell led the way with 21 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists, while the team also got 20 points from both Mike Conley and Jordan Clarkson.

Though the team recorded only 24 assists, it was clear the ball was moving on the offensive end as well as it had at any point for the Jazz this season leading to open looks from the three-point line, and easy finishes at the rim.

After Saturday’s win, Mitchell acknowledged that he played the way he expects himself to play every night.

“I had a good game tonight, and I’ve got to do it on Monday, and I’ve got the day after that,” Mitchell said. “It’s good to have a good game, but at the end of the day that’s what I’m supposed to do.”

Trail Blazers Struggling On The Road

Portland currently owns the sixth-best record in the Western Conference at 10-10, but while they’ve been nearly unbeatable at home, they’re equally dreadful on the road.

The Trail Blazers are 9-1 this season playing in Portland, and just 1-9 when playing teams on the road.

Portland’s lone road victory this season came against the three-win Houston Rockets, but have since lost their last three games away from home.

The Trail Blazers have the fourth-best offensive rating in the NBA this season, but that ranking drops to 17th while on the road, and their 117.5 defensive rating away from home is the worst in the NBA.

Broadcast

The Jazz and the Trail Blazers will tip-off at 7 pm MT and can be heard on 102.7 KSL NewsRadio, and the 97.5 and 1280 The Zone. The game will be televised on AT&T SportsNet and FuboTV.
