SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz struggled to close out the game in the fourth quarter and fell on the road to the Orlando Magic.

Orlando beat Utah, 107-100.

First Quarter

The Magic opened the game red-hot shooting 7-7 from the floor while the Jazz struggled to make open looks. Despite getting into the paint and kicking the ball out to Bojan Bogdanovic for open looks, the Jazz started just 1-7 from the three-point line.

After falling in Miami, the Jazz looked sluggish defensively allowing the young Magic roster to run the floor and build confidence with easy looks in transition.

Mitchell led the Jazz in scoring with six points on 3-7 shooting, but the Jazz shot just 7-28 overall and 1-14 from the three-point line.

After one, the Jazz trail the Magic 28-15.

Second Quarter

The Magic cooled off to start the second quarter which allowed the Jazz to climb back to within single digits early.

Hassan Whiteside came in and gave the Jazz a boost one night after finishing the Heat game in place of Gobert. Whiteside’s shot blocking and soft touch around the rim allow the Jazz to keep their defensive identity consistent throughout the game, while his offensive game is different enough that it seems to throw opposing defenses off who aren’t used to having to take Gobert seriously when facing up to the hoop.

The Jazz used a 17-5 run to close the second quarter to take a 52-50 lead into halftime.

Third Quarter

Cole Anthony did his best to keep the Magic attached in this game, but despite 14 points in the third quarter, the Jazz were able to slowly pull away from Orlando.

After struggling in the first quarter, Bogdanovic had nine points in the third including four trips to the free-throw line to jumpstart the Jazz’s offense.

The Jazz scored 33 points and knocked down 4-11 three-point attempts to take an 85-75 lead into the final period.

Fourth Quarter

With the loss, the Jazz fell to a 7-3 record this season.

Utah’s next game is at home against the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday, November 9 at 7 p.m. (MDT).
