SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Multiple Utah Jazz starters won’t play during the team’s weekend matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Lakers host the Jazz for an afternoon game on Saturday, April 17.

Jazzmen Rudy Gobert and Mike Conley will sit out against Los Angeles due to right knee issues.

Donovan Mitchell is out after suffering a right ankle sprain a day earlier in Utah’s win over the Indiana Pacers.

In addition to the trio of starters, key reserve big man Derrick Favors will also sit out against the Lakers because of right knee soreness. Favors didn’t play against the Pacers.

The Jazz enter the game with the NBA’s best record at 42-14 on the season.

This season, Conley is averaging 16.4 points per contest on 44.9 percent shooting, including 41.5 percent on three-pointers.

He is also recording 3.4 rebounds, 5.7 assists, and 1.3 steals in 29.9 minutes a game.

Conley has appeared in 45 games this season.

Rudy Gobert

He is also averaging 13.6 rebounds. 1.3 assists, and a career-high 2.9 blocks per game.

Gobert has played in 56 games this season.

Donovan Mitchell

This season, Mitchell is averaging a career-high 26.4 points per game on 43.8 percent shooting, including 38.6 percent from beyond the arc.

He currently ranks No. 9 in the NBA in scoring.

Mitchell is also averaging 4.4 rebounds, a career-high 5.2 assists, and 1.0 steals per contest.

The guard has played in 53 games this season.

Jazz vs. Lakers

The Lakers will be without their main stars in LeBron James and Anthony Davis. James has been out the Los Angeles’ lineup with an ankle sprain since March. Davis hasn’t seen the court since he suffered a calf injury in February.

Utah’s next game is against the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday, April 16 at 2:30 p.m. (MDT). The game will broadcast on ESPN and 97.5 FM.
