Jazz Quin Snyder Named Coach Of The Month

SALT LAKE CITY – Utah Jazz coach Quin Snyder has been named the NBA’s Western Conference Coach of the Month for February.
The Jazz finished with an 8-1 record, the best winning percentage in the league during the stretch while dropping just one game to the Los Angeles Lakers before the All-Star break.
Snyder led the Jazz to the best offensive rating in the NBA during the month at 121.1 points per 100 possessions and the third-best defensive rating at 108.7.

The Jazz 12.5 net rating was second in the league during February trailing only the 9-2 Boston Celtics.
This is the fourth time Snyder has won Coach of the Month, and the third time he’s won it in the last 15 months. The Jazz coach also won the honors in the split months of December/January 2021, and again in February of last year.
Snyder took home his first Coach of the Month Award in March/April of 2018.
The coach had a difficult job in February playing five of the Jazz’s nine games without All-Star center Rudy Gobert. The three-time Defensive Player of the Year award winner missed the opening games of the month with a strained calf.
The Jazz welcomed a successful February after a disastrous January that saw the team drop 12 of their 16 outings while losing several players on the roster to COVID and other injuries.

Snyder’s Jazz currently sit in the fourth seed in the Western Conference playoff chase with just 21 games left in the regular season.
The coach isn’t the only Jazzman to win a monthly honor this season.
All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell was named Western Conference Player of the Month in December.
Celtics coach Ime Udoka took home the Coach of the Month honors for the Eastern Conference.
