Jazz Start Four Game Stretch Against Southeast Division Opponents

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Jazz are scheduled to face four teams from the NBA’s Southeast Division in the franchise’s next four games.
Utah starts the Southeast matchups with the Orlando Magic, Atlanta Hawks, and Charlotte Hornets. The Jazz haven’t played against any of the teams through the first 26 games of the season. Two of the three games will between Tuesday, December 17 and Saturday, December 21 will be played in the Eastern time zone.
The Jazz play against the Orlando Magic on December 17 before taking a flight to “The Big A” to take on the Hawks on Thursday, December 19. Following the game in Atlanta, the Jazz will play Michael Jordan’s Charlotte Hornets in a Saturday matinee.
Utah is coming off of back-to-back wins against the Minnesota Timberwolves and Golden State Warriors. The Jazz have won three of their last four games. Prior to that, they had lost five of six games.
The Jazz have played without point guard Mike Conley in each of the last five ball games. He is currently recovering from a hamstring injury suffered against the Philadelphia 76ers on December 2.

12/17 vs. Orlando Magic
Orlando defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 130-119 on Sunday, December 15. It was all-star center Nikola Vucevic’s first game since November 20. He’d been out of the lineup with an ankle injury. Prior to the win, the Magic had lost three consecutive games.
The Magic have lost two-thirds of their road games this season. The Jazz have lost only three games at Vivint Smart Home Arena on the 2019-20 schedule.
Orlando is led in scoring this season by shooting guard Evan Fournier who is averaging 20.2 points per game.
Last season, the Jazz and Magic split their two meetings. Orlando defeated Utah 96-89 in Mexico City on December 15, 2018. The Jazz evened up the season series with a 106-93 win in Salt Lake City on January 9, 2019.

12/19 @ Atlanta Hawks
Following the matchup with the Magic, the Jazz will take on the Atlanta Hawks. The Hawks are currently tied with the New Orleans Pelicans for the second-worst record in the NBA.
Atlanta is led by second-year point guard Trae Young. He currently ranks fourth in the NBA in scoring with 27.7 points per contest.
Hawks forward Jabari Parker is averaging 16.1 points, 6.4 rebounds, and 1.8 assists this season.
Last season, the Jazz and Hawks split the season series 1-1. Utah took the first game in Salt Lake City with a 128-111 victory on February 1, 2019.

The Hawks got their revenge with a 117-114 win in Atlanta on March 21.

12/21 @ Charlotte Hornets
The 2019-20 edition of the Charlotte Hornets is quite a bit different than how the franchise has looked in seasons past. The Hornets are in the middle of their first season without former franchise point guard Kemba Walker who signed with the Boston Celtics in July 2019.
Charlotte is led by the guard duo of Devonte’ Graham and Terry Rozier this season. Through 28 games, Graham is averaging 19.9 points and Rozier is posting 17.1 points per game.
Last season, the Jazz swept the season series against the Hornets 2-0. Utah beat Charlotte 119-111 in North Carolina on November 30, 2018. The Jazz closed the 2018-19 series with a 111-102 in SLC on April 1.
