Jazz To Wear Apparel Celebrating WNBA 25th Anniversary

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah Jazz fans will notice something a little different during the team’s game against Oklahoma City Thunder tonight. The team will be wearing apparel honoring the 25th anniversary of the WNBA which opens its season shortly before the Jazz tip-off.
Jazz players will be wearing WNBA shooting shirts while the coaching staff and trainers will be wearing polos celebrating the league.
“Both teams are going to be wearing apparel, shirts, and golf shirts that are recognizing and celebrating 25 years of the WNBA,” Jazz coach Quin Snyder said before the game.

The 12 WNBA teams will get to return to their home arenas to play in front of fans after conducting their entire 2020 campaign inside the protected campus in Orlando.
Over the course of the season, the WNBA will be unveiling the 25 greatest moments, 25 game-changing players, and other events to commemorate its 25th anniversary of the league.
“I think our whole staff and everybody in our program is excited and appreciates the opportunity to join in recognizing that league and all the things that various women over the last 25 years have accomplished,” Snyder said.

Utah was home to one of the original eight WNBA teams but saw the Starzz move to San Antonio in 2003. But despite not having a home team in the state, that hasn’t stopped Snyder from watching and appreciating everything the WNBA offers.
“The impact of sports across different segments of society via gender or race can’t be underestimated,” Snyder said. “There are opportunities for us to learn on multiple levels, and from a coaching standpoint, there’s a lot to take away, too.”
The WNBA season runs through September 19 and features 32 regular-season games.
