SALT LAKE CITY – On Monday, shortly before the opening of NBA Free Agency, the Utah Jazz and guard Jordan Clarkson agreed to a contract buyout.

The veteran spent nearly six seasons in Utah, helping the team qualify for the postseason three times, while ranking fourth in three-pointers made for the franchise.

Jordan Clarkson’s Top Five Moments For The Utah Jazz

Clarkson Shows Promise In First Road Game With Jazz

Though it may not be the most memorable performance for Jazz fans, Clarkson’s first road game after getting traded to Utah offered an intriguing glimpse of things to come.

Just a month into the 2019-20 season, it was apparent the Jazz’s second unit was among the worst in the league and needed an influx of talent to balance the roster.

The Jazz traded former lottery pick Dante Exum to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Clarkson, and the guard immediately made his impact felt.

In just his second game with his new teammates, Clarkson scored 19 points in 24 minutes off the bench, helping the Jazz beat the Los Angeles Clippers at Staples Center.

The guard would score in double-digits in 33 of his 41 appearances for the Jazz during his first season in Utah, signaling his arrival as one of the league’s top bench unit players.

Clarkson Sets Jazz Record For Points Off The Bench

Clarkson is one of the purest scorers in the NBA, and never was it more apparent than when he set a new Jazz franchise record for points off the bench.

On March 12, 2022, the guard helped the Jazz stave off John Drew’s previous Jazz record of 41 from a second-unit player.

Clarkson would score 40 or more three times for the Jazz in a non-starting role, becoming the only player in team history to achieve the feat more than once.

Clarkson Wins Skills Challenge

With the Jazz hosting the All-Star game for the first time in 30 years, the team was well-represented at All-Star Weekend.

While Lauri Markkanen’s surprise All-Star selection might be most memorable for Jazz fans, it was the Skills Challenge on Saturday night that stole the show.

Clarkson, with teammates Collin Sexton and Walker Kessler, beat out Team Antetokounmpo in front of a packed home arena.

Clarkson Named Sixth Man Of The Year

In 2021, Clarkson led all bench scorers in the NBA, averaging 18.4 points per game, and helped lead the Jazz to the best record in the NBA for the first time in franchise history.

The guard was rewarded with the Kia Sixth Man of the Year Trophy, becoming the first player in Jazz history ever to win the award.

Teammate Joe Ingles placed second in Sixth Man of the Year voting and surprised Clarkson with the award during a TNT broadcast.

Clarkson is one of only six players to earn a major end-of-season award for the Jazz.

Clarkson Breaks Jazz Triple-Double Drought

In what might be his last great memory as a member of the Jazz, Clarkson snapped the team’s nearly 16-year triple-double drought.

On New Year’s Day, 2024, the guard recorded 20 points, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds, as the Jazz downed the Dallas Mavericks 127-90.

The Jazz hadn’t recorded a regular-season triple-double in 5,801 days, the longest active stretch in the NBA at that point.

It was fitting that Jordan Clarkson, the team’s longest tenured player, would do the honors, and he remains the last Jazz player to do it.
