SALT LAKE CITY – Jazz guard Jordan Clarkson connected on a three-pointer despite getting fouled during Utah’s game against the Brooklyn Nets.

The Nets hosted the Jazz at Barclays Center on Monday, March 21.

With 6:00 left in the third quarter, Clarkson rose up for a shot attempt from beyond the arc at the left angle. Last season’s NBA Sixth Man of the Year drilled a 25-foot shot while getting contacted by Nets rookie Kessler Edwards.

Clarkson completed the four-point play by sinking a free throw at the charity stripe. The triple and subsequent foul shot cut Brooklyn’s lead to 75-66.

After the shot, Clarkson had 14 points on 5-11 shooting, including 3-5 from beyond the arc. Clarkson added five rebounds during his first 19 minutes on the hardwood.

This season, Clarkson is averaging 16.1 points per game on 42.0 percent shooting, including 31.7 percent from downtown. He also added 3.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists per contest.

Jazz vs. Nets

After playing .500 basketball for the first two weeks of March, the Jazz have hit their stride with three consecutive wins over the last five days.

Beginning with Wednesday’s win over the Bulls, the Jazz have won three straight games by at least 15 points, and have an average margin of victory of 19.7 points per game.

The Jazz have done it with a shorthanded roster as Donovan Mitchell, Mike Conley, Bojan Bogdanovic, Hassan Whiteside, Danuel House Jr., and Trent Forrest have all missed games during the stretch.

However, newfound depth with Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Juancho Hernangomez, and Jared Butler have given the team a much-needed boost of energy in the victories.

Nets Have Won Five Of Six

Though much of the Nets season has been up and down due to the varying availability of Kyrie Irving, and the sudden, blockbuster trade that sent James Harden to the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for Ben Simmons, they’ve found themselves on an upswing of late.

The Nets have won five of their last six games, including huge scoring outbursts from Irving and Kevin Durant who have combined for three 50+ point outings during the stretch.

However, Irving will remain unavailable to play at home when the Jazz face the Nets due to ongoing COVID protocols in New York City.

The Jazz crushed the Nets on February 4, in Utah 125-102, as Irving played, though Durant missed the game with a knee injury.

Utah’s game against Brooklyn is broadcast on AT&T SportsNet, NBA TV, and The Zone Sports Network.
