Reports: Jusuf Nurkic intends to stay with Utah Jazz on two-year deal

SALT LAKE CITY — According to ESPN NBA Insider Shams Charania, veteran big man Jusuf Nurkic intends to ink a deal to stay with the Utah Jazz.
The report says that the deal stands at two years and $22 million.

The Utah Jazz acquired Nurkic in the Collin Sexton trade last June.
After short stints in Phoenix and Charlotte, the Bosnian center looked to maybe be on the down-and-out. He saw a bit of a resurgence with the Jazz in the 2025-2026 season with averages of 10.9 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 4.8 assists a game.
His affect on the season was encapsulated in late January when he set a new franchise record with a triple-double in three-straight games.

That’s the longest streak in @UtahJazz history, and he’s now tied with Karl Malone and Andrei Kirilenko for third-most for the franchise.

The move comes at an opportune time for Utah. As of this morning, the Jazz didn’t have a single center under contract.
At Darryn Peterson’s introductory press conference on Saturday, Utah’s president of basketball operations Austin Ainge joked:
Obviously, we don’t have any centers under contract right now. So, that will be one area, for sure, we’ll work on.
The franchise is still working with Walker Kessler and his camp to come to terms on a deal. Starting on July 1, Kessler will be able to negotiate deals outside of Utah. On July 6, free agency will truly open so deals can be made official.
