Svi Mykhailiuk Drops Circus Layup As Part Of Career Scoring Night

SALT LAKE CITY – Utah Jazz guard Svi Mykhailiuk scored a career high in the home closer against the Thunder, which included a ridiculous layup in traffic in the fourth quarter.

Mykhailiuk finished with 27 points and three assists on 50 percent from the field with five made threes.

Mykhailiuk was a much-needed bright spot in an otherwise dark final home game for Utah.

Despite playing an OKC team with all of its starters out, the Jazz shot under 40 percent from the floor and under 30 percent from three.

It felt like Mykhailiuk and Brice Sensabaugh, who poured in 25, were the only Jazzmen who had any momentum on offense.

Utah eventually went on to lose 145-11, setting up the final game of the season in Minnesota on Sunday.

Jazz Close Out Home Schedule Against OKC Thunder

The Utah Jazz close out their home schedule tonight with the Oklahoma City Thunder in town.

After dropping nine straight and 10 of their last 19, the Jazz ended their drought with a 133-126 overtime win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday. Still, Utah owns a 10-30 record at home and sits at 17-63 overall, tied for the worst mark in the NBA.

Meanwhile, the Thunder have been putting together an all-time regular season on the back of MVP-candidate Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. At 66-14, Oklahoma City has earned the luxury of resting players ahead of the playoffs — and rest they will. Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams, Chet Holmgren, Alex Caruso, Luguentz Dort, and several others are all on the Thunder’s injury report for Friday’s matchup.

This will be the fourth and final matchup between Utah and Oklahoma City this season. The Thunder has dominated the series, winning all three previous matchups by an average margin of more than 17 points.
