MEMPHIS, Tenn. – After losing the first two match ups in Salt Lake City, the Utah Jazz are hoping to finally beat the Memphis Grizzlies at their place as they start a five game road trip.

The first game between the two teams saw Memphis (7-4) beat the Jazz (6-6) 92-84 on October 22.

They battled for a second time on November 2 as the Grizzlies picked up a 110-100 win.

What Went Wrong For The Jazz

On October 22, both teams shot the ball poorly. Utah shot just 35 percent and Memphis made 37 percent of their field goal attempts.

The Jazz attempted more three pointers than Memphis but only made 25 percent on 8-of-32 shooting. The difference in the game was Memphis holding Utah to just 17 points in the third quarter while scoring 23.

Memphis was led by Mike Conley with 23 points and 7 rebounds including 10-of-11 from the foul line.

Jae Crowder scored 15 points for the Jazz in 29 minutes but Donovan Mitchell had 14 points on just 6-of-17 shooting from the field.

On November 2, the third quarter was the difference once again. The Jazz held a seven point lead at halftime before Memphis outscored Utah 30-18 in the third quarter.

Utah made one more three-pointer than Memphis but attempted 10 more shots from deep. Conley once again, led the Grizzlies with 28 points including 11-of-13 from the free throw line.

How To Beat Memphis

First thing is to keep Mike Conley off the free throw line. He has hit 21 of his 24 attempts in the two games.

Second is to make shots. Utah has to shoot better than 40 percent for a chance to win in Memphis, especially in the second half.

Donovan Mitchell needs to get going offensively and create problems to the Grizzlies defense. He didn’t play in the previous matchup with an injury. Jazz fans hope that he can be the difference in Memphis.

Tip-off from the Fedex Forum is at 6 p.m. on AT&T SportsNet.
