Utah Jazz Move To 1-7 On Road After Warriors Blowout

SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz lost their fourth consecutive game Monday night, falling to the Golden State Warriors 134-117.
Keyonte George scored 28 points to lead the Jazz, while Steph Curry poured in 31 for the Warriors.

Keyonte George Is Stacking Huge Performances
Despite the team’s winless streak, George—the Jazz’s third-year breakout star—has elevated his game to another level.
Over his last five games, including Monday’s performance, George has averaged 28.4 points and 7.4 assists while significantly improving his shooting percentages.
He has hit 49 of 100 field goal attempts (49 percent) and 17 of 43 from three (39 percent).
The Jazz have been getting run since the beginning of the second quarter, so it loses some luster, but it’s wild how easily Keyonte George is putting up huge games.

Before this hot streak, George shot just 42 percent from the floor and 27 percent from three over his first 12 games.
“Keyonte continues to play an all-around floor game,” Jazz coach Will Hardy said. “He’s not doing it one way, which I think is something that we’re really excited about moving forward.”
With Lauri Markkanen (17 points, 6-19 FG) struggling for a second straight night, the Jazz needed George to shoulder a heavier offensive load—and he proved ready for the challenge.
While the Jazz entered the season hoping to be more competitive than they’ve been in three of their last four outings, player development remains the top priority for the 2025-26 campaign. George is emerging as a cornerstone of the team’s future.
With Latest Losing Streak, Where Are the Jazz Trending?
After starting the season 5-8, Jazz fans have shifted their attention to the team’s top-eight protected 2026 first-round pick.
If the Jazz land one of the first eight picks, they keep it. If the pick falls between 9 and 30 after the lottery, it goes to the Oklahoma City Thunder as part of the 2021 Derrick Favors trade.

So, after four straight losses, where do the Jazz stand?
Rather than just checking the standings, let’s look at home and road performance through 17 games.
The Jazz are 4-5 at home, which projects to 18 wins at Delta Center if that pace holds.
On the road, they’ve opened 1-7. At a .125 winning percentage away from home, they would finish with only five road victories.
Add it up, and unless trends change, the Jazz are on pace for a 23-59 record.
How Would That Compare to Recent Seasons?
Over the last five years, teams with 23 wins (.280 winning percentage) finished with the fifth-worst record (2024-25), sixth-worst (2023-24), fourth-worst (2022-23), and third-worst (2021-22 and 2020-21).
On average, the Jazz’s current pace would rank as the fourth-worst record in the league.
If they finish with the seventh-worst record, they’ll have an 86 percent chance of keeping their lottery pick and a 32 percent chance of moving into the top three.
With Monday’s loss, the Jazz are tied with the Los Angeles Clippers for the eighth-worst record in the NBA, and have quickly been making up ground on teams in the lottery ahead of them.
While fans shouldn’t expect an all-out tank like they saw last season, the Jazz’s odds of holding onto their draft pick are improving with each outing.
