Utah’s Lt Governor: Headband Joe Is A ‘National Treasure’

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Utah Jazz beat the Memphis Grizzlies 96-88 but the game took a different turn with 3:55 left in the game.
Joe Ingles received a massive cut above his left eye and had to go to the bench. Jazz trainers worked on him but it was clear that Ingles needed stitches but he wanted to go back into the game. The trainers wrapped bandage around his head and Ingles was able to continue to play.

KSL Sports compiled a video to commemorate the moment when Ingles started sporting the headband.

Ingles finished with a team-high 19 points including a three-point shot to seal the win for the Jazz as they beat the Grizzlies for the first time in three tries this season.
KSL’s Jeremiah Jensen said it was only a matter of time before someone got hurt in the physical game between the Jazz and Grizzlies.

After the game, Ingles received stitches. He told Jazz sideline reporter Kristen Kenney that he has never received stitches before he was cut in the Memphis game.
